  • YES! Many photographers who use the studio are strictly natural light photographers.

The main windows face east, with the block glass windows facing north. Even though the windows face east, there will be direct light coming in during the late afternoon hours when the sun reflects off the tall building across the street.

I often get asked< “when is the “BEST” light?” I can’t really answer that, because everyone has their own definition of what “the best” light is depending on their own shooing style..

However, when I shoot natural light in the studio, I can easily shoot until about 2 hours before sunset.

There are V-Flats available for bouncing light. Not familiar with how to use V-Flats? Look it up on You Tube…they are a Natural Light Photographer’s studio “must have” for controlling and bouncing light!

  • It sure is!

    STOBES:

Currently, I have three Paul Buff Digibee strobes with different modifiers, including:

    • Two 5 foot umbrellas

    • One 7’ shoot-through umbrella

    • One Beauty dish

    • One 5’ Octabox

    • One 48”x18” strip box

    Continuous Light:

I have two Aperture Storm 300d II with one 36” lantern, and two soft boxes. Technically video lights, they also works beautifully as a portrait light and also works as a nice fill for those not wanting to, or knowing how to, use strobe.
